Dr. Sridevi Vavilapalli

Dr. Sridevi Vavilapalli was originally born and raised in India, from where she also graduated in Veterinary Medicine. After moving to the United States, she attended Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine as a part of the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Board Certification Program. She has been practicing small animal medicine in the state of Georgia since 2007.

She enjoys working with all species of companion animals but loves the canine and feline practice the most. She has a particular interest in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and ultrasonography. Prior to joining the team at Shepherd Animal Hospital in 2019, she worked as an associate veterinarian at a very busy small animal practice. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, listening to music, being outdoors, gardening and traveling. Dr. Vavilapalli resides in Suwanee with her husband and two girls. She has three lovely cats Mousse, Halo, and Stewie.


Dr. Srujana Rayalam

Born and raised in India, Dr. Rayalam was drawn to the field of veterinary medicine at a young age. After graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine, S.V. Veterinary University in India, she moved to the United States in 2002 to pursue Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Rayalam cloned feline thyrotropin and developed an assay to detect TSH levels in hyperthyroid cats as part of her doctoral dissertation. She is the recipient of the first Virbac Animal Health – Soloxine Award and is a Morris Animal Foundation Fellow. She worked as an educator and researcher training students in many healthcare professions, contributed to 7 chapters in various books including one in a standard veterinary pharmacology textbook, and published close to 50 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. She presented her research at various national and international scientific meetings.

Dr. Rayalam was the recipient of the Teacher of the Year award multiple times at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she worked as an associate professor. With a strong commitment to veterinary medicine and a passion for helping animals, Dr. Rayalam became a licensed veterinarian in the US and currently practices full-time with a special interest in internal medicine and preventive care. Dr. Rayalam combines her wealth of knowledge and experience with a commitment to staying current in the field and is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to her patients.

Dr. Rayalam resides in Suwanee with her husband, two sons, and her furbaby Leiah. She enjoys spending her spare time at home with her family or reading good fiction.
